How we compare eyewear

Exact products, dated prices and honest coverage.

Eyewear Compared helps UK shoppers compare the same sunglasses or optical frame across participating retailers. Products are grouped by a validated barcode in the same UK market and GBP currency. Similar names and a shared brand are not enough to establish the same item.

What makes a comparison

A price comparison needs current available offers from at least two independent retailer groups for the exact product. Related storefronts and duplicate feeds count once. Products with one retailer remain labelled single-retailer listings.

Source dates control freshness

We use the retailer feed’s observation date, not the time a file was copied or a page was opened. Prices expire after 72 hours. A refresh that fails validation keeps the last valid catalogue, while old offers still disappear when their observation expires.

What the price includes

Shown prices are recorded item prices in GBP. Unconfirmed delivery charges, prescription lenses, coatings and optional services are not included in a total. We make no claim to cover every retailer or to find the lowest price across the whole market.

How we are paid

We may earn commission from retailer links. Offers are sorted by recorded item price; commission does not change that order.

Product facts and missing details

We preserve supplied model and size information and hold conflicting supplied variants. We do not invent missing condition, materials, protection specifications or prescription suitability. Check the retailer’s specification and final order before purchasing.
